Dr. Joseph Szymanski completed his undergraduate studies at Oakland University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then continued his education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. During his time at the University of Michigan, Dr. Szymanski was focused on improving his clinical skills by participating in Victors for Veterans. This project was established to provide free dental care to underserved veterans in northern Michigan. Since 2018, the Victors for Veterans project team has provided over $320,800 worth of free services to veterans in northern Michigan. Currently, Dr. Szymanski is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association. Dr. Szymanski believes in a comfort first approach to dentistry focused on each individual patient’s well-being. He takes great pride in the quality of his work and is always working to advance his skills through state-of-the-art education courses like the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Maxicourse. Outside of the office, Dr. Szymanski enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren and their dog Willow, as well as watching and playing sports. His love for hockey and dentistry allowed him to get the opportunity to be a team dentist for the Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League, a position he has held for the past 2 seasons.
