Dr Kurt Erickson

Dr. Kurt Erickson grew up in Fairmont, Minnesota as the eldest son of a dentist and is a graduate of Fairmont High School. He completed his undergraduate education at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2010. Taking inspiration from his father, Dr. Erickson earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2014. Upon graduating dental school, Dr. Erickson furthered his professional training and completed a yearlong AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency program at the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Sitka, Alaska. During this time, he received advanced training from specialists in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics. He has over a decade of private practice experience serving several communities in southern Minnesota. Dr. Erickson and Dr. Seth Huiras founded Straight River Family Dental in 2023 after acquiring the practice of Dr. Richard Dresser. They are partners in three general dentistry practices including Fountain Lake Family Dental in Albert Lea, MN and Montgomery Family Dental in Montgomery, MN. He is a current member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the Southern District Dental Society. Dr. Erickson’s professional interests include clear aligner orthodontics, dental implants, and airway dentistry. Dr. Erickson and his wife reside in Owatonna, MN with their three lovely children. He is a huge sports fan and loves cheering on his favorite Minnesota teams in his free time (Skol Vikings!).
