Dr. McGrath grew up a stone’s throw away in New Haven, CT. Along with his athletic interests in soccer, golf, and tennis, he was drawn to dentistry. Dentistry combined his interests in math, science, and working with his hands. After graduating from high school, Dr. McGrath attended UConn for his undergraduate degree. Then, he obtained his dental degree from UConn School of Dental Medicine before completing a year-long Advanced Education General Dentistry (AEGD) residency, also at UConn. But his education didn’t stop there. Even after graduating, Dr. McGrath prioritized continuing education, becoming an FAGD (Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry), an honor earned by only 6% of general dentists. As an FAGD, Dr. McGrath has specialized training in a wide variety of dental treatments. By staying on top of current dental technologies, techniques, and best practices Dr. McGrath offers dental care that’s a cut above the competition. But above all else, Dr. McGrath loves the ability to learn more about patients, make an impact on their lives with high-quality dental care, and build real relationships that will last for the years and decades to come. Outside of the office, Dr. McGrath loves to stay active by playing golf, hiking, fishing, camping, and working out at the gym. He’s also an avid reader, so ask him for his latest book recommendation!
