Dr. Washburn began his practice with the US Army Dental Corps at Army Intelligence Headquarters in Ft. Holabird, Baltimore, Md, serving as Second in Command, Preventive Dentistry Officer from 1970-1972. After leaving the military, he practised as an associate dentist in San Mateo, CA, before beginning his practice in Salinas, CA in 1974, where he was on staff at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital from 1981 to 1982. Professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Monterey Bay Dental Society. He was Governor of the Monterey Bay Colony from 2006-2008, Host of the Salinas Lions Club for 40 years, Cub Master for the Boy Scouts of America, member of the Mayflower Descendants since 1988, and awarded Veteran of the Year in 2009.
