Dr. Alexandra Porcu is from Long Island and graduated with highest honours from Syosset Senior High School. During her grade school years, she became a United States Figure Skating Association Double Gold Medalist. Continuing her love of skating, she served as Captain of the synchronised skating team while studying at Georgetown University. She also served as President of the Caring For Children With Cancer Club and studied genetics as a Howard Hughes Research Scholar. Dr. Alex received her B.S. in Biology and a Minor in Studio Art. Carrying with her the Georgetown motto “Cura Personalis,” meaning “care of the whole person”, she pursued her desire to help others at Stony Brook University’s School of Dental Medicine. There, as a Paul Ambrose Research Scholar, she worked to improve access to care for under-served patients. She earned her D.D.S. with Distinction in Research, Distinction in Removable Prosthodontics, the Humanitarian Award, and the Senior Student Dental Award.
