I was born near Vancouver, BC, Canada, and then raised in Seattle, WA, I finished up my undergraduate studies at PLU in Tacoma, WA. After, I completed my dental degree (DMD) in Chicago. By the time I completed my DMD degree I had the opportunity to work at multiple under-served clinics in Chicago, helping patients with complex medical histories and special needs. After graduating I worked in Kent, WA where I honed skills in surgical extractions, implant placement, endodontics, and a multitude of other procedures. This experience gave me the confidence to execute complicated procedures with efficiency and great clinical results.
I love learning about cutting-edge technologies! We are in the midst of a tech “boom” in the dental field and the excitement is understandably palpable! Some are proven, and some are still in development. Regardless, I am a firm believer that to provide the best dental care you must be involved with continuing education (CE). I am currently working on my Mastership through the Academy of General Dentistry, which involves over 1,100 hours of CE, and being an active part of the Washington AGD MasterTrack study club that meets every 2-3 months throughout the year to discuss hot topics in dentistry. When completed, the distinction is held by about 2% of dentists in the US and Canada.
When I am away from the office I love to spend time playing basketball, watching Seahawks football, and spending time with family. I am an also an avid reader, and just finished up “When Breath Becomes Air” by Paul Kalanithi. If you haven’t read it, look it up! It is an absolutely moving book. If you have any suggestions for books to read, let me know! I’m always looking for new topics to learn about.
