Dr. Eric Yao has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years and has served the Shoreline community since 2003. He obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1998. In 2012, he earned Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry—a distinction held by fewer than 1% of general dentists - after completing 1,100+ hours of advanced training. He also teaches at the UW Dental School on Fridays as an affiliate professor. Dr. Yao's approach is simple: treat every patient like family. He strives to create a warm, welcoming space where people feel heard, respected, and confident in their care. He enjoys finding the best solutions for each patient and provides comprehensive care for all ages. He is a recipient of the 2020 Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition award for his commitment to lifelong learning, volunteering his services to communities in need, mentoring associates and new dentists, and participating in organized dentistry. He has completed more than 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in 16 different dental disciplines and over 150 hours of dental-related community/volunteer service. He is passionate about continuing education and staying current with the latest technologies. He has three boys and enjoys coaching youth basketball, making free sports mouthguards, traveling, outdoor activities, movies, golf, basketball, and cheering on Seattle sports teams.
