Mr James Sweeney

Dr. Sweeney grew up in Southern California. He graduated Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles in 2002 and attended Creighton University Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating dental school in May of 2006, he moved back to his hometown area in Southern California and opened the doors to a brand-new office in 2007. His practice, Hometown Dental, focused on conservative dentistry along with excellent customer service. Dr. Sweeney enjoyed the ability to get to know each patient on a personal level, and patients appreciated his gentle chairside manner. He received many referrals, and the practice quickly grew. In 2014, Dr. Sweeney purchased a second dental practice in Los Angeles County. While working at and managing both offices, he also opened an escape room entertainment company. In the fall of 2020, after much prayer and family discussion, Dr. Sweeney decided it was time to leave California. In an effort to bring his family to a more like-minded area, he chose Southern Missouri for his new home. Dr. Sweeney is a member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, and the Greater Springfield Dental Society. He is also a board member for the Western Society of Periodontology and attends several hours of continuing education each year to keep up on the latest innovations in dentistry. In his spare time, you will find Dr. Sweeney with his wife and two boys. He enjoys playing video and board games and involves himself in various church activities and Bible studies.
