Dr. Amber Mills is from a small town in southern Iowa called Albia. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earned her bachelor’s degree in food science and technology. Moving into dental school, Dr. Mills completed extra coursework and graduated with distinction in dental public health from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. During her time in dental school, Dr. Mills also participated in volunteer programs with dental public health groups such as the Iowa Mission of Mercy, school based sealant and education programs, and a mission trip to rural Mexico that provided education and dental care to children with limited access to dentists. Something Dr. Mills has taken from attending the University of Iowa is a unique dental education where she was able to learn to perform a wide variety of procedures that encompass all aspects of general dentistry. Dr. Mills has rotated through many different types of clinics to gain experience working with pediatric, geriatric and special needs patients, as well as learning from many different professionals. With this knowledge, Dr. Mills has learned how to adapt to new situations to provide the best care for her patients. In her free time, Dr. Mills loves to run, hike and paddleboard, as well as any other outdoor activity. For the past three years, she has also been enjoying aerial silks and trying any hobby that will keep her active.
