Following graduation with a BS in biology from the University of Illinois, Dr. Wilhelm attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where he received his DMD degree. He then took a year off school to work as a dental lab technician and general dentist in the Chicago area. In 1989, he completed a 3-year hospital-based residency and acquired an MSD degree along with certificates in Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Fixed Prosthodontics and Removable Prosthodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He opened his private practice in St. Paul in 1990 and moved to Woodbury in 2003. Dr. Wilhelm attends several conferences and continuing education courses every year. He has three adult children. When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Wilhelm enjoys travelling, fishing and mountain biking.
