Dr. Ruben Mesia is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He received a Master’s in Dental Science and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Currently, he holds an appointment as a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Florida. Before his periodontal training, Dr. Mesia completed two years of residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Connecticut Health Center and earned his Dental Degree at the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University (in Lima, Peru). His combined training in Implant Dentistry provides him with a unique perspective on optimizing patients’ oral health care both functionally and aesthetically. Dr. Mesia is also licensed to administer intravenous conscious sedation to provide treatment in a comfortable, relaxing environment. In his free time, he enjoys biking, running and spending time with his wife and three children.
