Dr. April Detar graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and a minor in psychology. She went on to receive a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2000 where she was an esteemed member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. In 2001 she completed her General Practice Residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2017 she founded Dentistry by April Detar creating a family-oriented, patient focused practice offering comprehensive and caring dentistry. Dr. Detar has had widespread training and greatly enjoys Implantology. She is certified in Oral Conscious Sedation and Nitrous Oxide Sedation, Pinhole connective tissue grafting, Invisalign, Clear Correct, and traditional orthodontics.
