Dr. Nguyen studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at UC Berkeley. He worked in the mainframe computer industry for more than three years in the U.S. and Japan in the 1980s before going back to dental school at UC San Francisco. He graduated from Berkeley with the highest honors (top 3%) and went on to Stanford University for his master’s degree, also in EECS. Dr. Nguyen was awarded the Regent Scholarship from both UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco. He also received numerous awards during his dental years: the Martin Awards for academic achievements, the Hughes Award for prosthodontics, the Fleming Award for outstanding care for patients, and a CDA scholarship. He is a member of the American Association of Functional Orthodontics, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
