Dr. Alyssa Burton grew up in Hickory, NC, and moved to Virginia to complete her education and training. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Virginia before discovering her passion for dentistry through hands-on experience in her cousin’s practice. She earned her DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and completed a General Practice Residency at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where she gained experience treating medically complex patients and a wide range of dental needs. Dr. Burton is especially interested in root canals, extractions, anterior restorations, and restoring smiles after dental trauma. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Virginia Dental Association. Known for her calm and easy-going demeanor, Dr. Burton is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care. She believes dentistry blends technical skill, creativity, and personal connection — and she finds fulfillment in transforming lives through healthy, confident smiles. Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, playing soccer, reading in the park, and visiting National Parks — Mount Rainier being her favorite. After living in Virginia for over a decade, she’s proud to call it home.
