After graduating high school from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, she received a B.A. in Biology and Spanish and an M.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University. She went on to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. Dr. Zechmann completed her General Practice Residency at the Baltimore VA Hospital. Dr. Zechmann has a special passion for the way our teeth come together and how that affects our muscles, joints, and teeth as a system. As a result, she is focused on temporomandibular joint disorder (commonly known as TMJ or TMD), occlusion-based dentistry, dental sleep medicine, and implantology. She also enjoys treating sleep breathing disorders with dental appliances, as she holds the Qualified Dentist Designation from the AADSM. “I feel that dental sleep medicine and treating TMD go hand-in-hand, and knowledge of one allows for better treatment of the other. I also have a passion for implantology and surgery. I place and restore implants using the latest technology including, 3D-imaging, oral scanners, 3-D printing and PRP/PRF.”
