Dr. Joshua Heyrend is an Idaho native that grew up in the Midwest. He moved to Arizona in 2020 and has been practicing in the valley since. Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Heyrend served as a volunteer missionary in Italy, where he became fluent in the language and fell in love with the Italian culture and cuisine. In 2012, he graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science and a Minor in Chemistry. In 2017, he graduated from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine, with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Following dental school, in 2018, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) post-graduate residency with NYU Lutheran and Roseman University of Health Sciences in Utah. With a particular focus on dental emergencies, dental implants, surgical extractions and wisdom teeth removals, cosmetic dentistry, and root canal treatments. Dr. Heyrend and his family moved to Arizona in 2020 to be closer to family. He and his wife have 3 sons and 1 daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
