Dr. Nakamura grew up in Southern California near Disneyland. She worked as the character "Snoopy" at the amusement park Knotts Berry Farm while attending Cal. State Univ. Long Beach. In 1991 she received a B.A. in Biology and started Dental school at Loma Linda University. During her schooling, she worked in the dental field as a dental assistant as well as a member of the front office staff. Before starting her own practice she gained experience and knowledge of the dental business by working in many different kinds of dental offices. After graduating, she relocated to Northern California, where she associated in practices in Burlingame and Berkeley, before buying the Tracy practice in 1999 with Dr. Mitoma, her husband and business partner. Dr. Nakamura is especially good with children. They are not intimidated by her small stature and are able to respond well to her. She has a number of patients who have been visiting her since the age of three and still enjoy coming to the dentist. Dr. Nakamura loves oral pathology and diseases of the mouth. She has taken an extensive amount of continuing education in this specialized field. Her injection technique is very gentle and many patients comment on how they didn't even feel it. She is excellent at diagnosing and finding problems before they begin to cause pain.
