Dr James Y. Kim

Dr. James Kim was born in Taegu, South Korea. When he was two months old his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Kim has always enjoyed working with his hands, and as a teenager his hobbies included building model airplanes and origami. His dream of becoming a dentist was born when, as a high school student, he visited a friend’s father’s practice and saw the positive impact dentistry made in people’s lives. Dentistry, he decided, was “right down his alley,” allowing him to exercise his technical skill while helping others. Dr. Kim completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Emory University in 1992, continuing on to Temple University School of Dentistry to attain his DMD Degree in 1996. He continues to expand his education within his field, not only out of a commitment to excellent care, but also out of a true passion for the practice of dentistry. Recent additions to his services include Six Month Smiles accelerated orthodontics, Invisalign clear braces, and minimally invasive, scalpel-free laser surgery with PerioLase. He considers dentistry his “true calling in life,” and takes great pride in providing gentle, quality dental care and developing long-lasting relationships with his patients. He and his wife, Jennifer, live in Tucker, Georgia, where Dr. Kim has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry since 1997.
