She was born and raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. At 16 years old she moved to North America to complete her secondary education and perused higher education at Essex County College and Farleigh Dickinson University. She graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in 1993 and the following year she completed a post-doctoral residency fellowship at Columbia University. For the past 18 years, community service is an integral part of her everyday life. In 2004, 2005 and 2018, she and a team of healthcare professionals provided free medical and dental care to Kingstown, St. Vincent and Port Elizabeth, Bequia. Not only does she provide dental care abroad, but also provides free screenings at health fairs to local communities in Essex County. She continues her humanitarian work via the Universal Medical Mission.
