He engages with his patients and reinforces the importance that oral health plays in their overall health and wellbeing. Dr. Rivera is patient and understanding, treating his patients just as he would a member of his own family. Dr. Rivera began his dental career over 10 years ago in San José, Costa Rica. He received his Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, CT. Dr. Rivera loves continuing his knowledge in all aspects of dentistry, and has attended the New York University College of Dentistry’s Endodontic Week seminar as well as the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine’s Comprehensive Implantology Continuum courses. Dr. Rivera provides restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry, as well as Invisalign® treatment. He is a member of the Virginia Dental Association and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Dr. Rivera provided dental care to underserved communities in nine countries during his trip on the USNS Comfort with the United States Navy. When he is not in the office treating patients, Dr. Rivera enjoys surfing, soccer and guitar.
