First of all, it is with great pleasure to welcome you to Horizons Dental practice in Walnut Creek. My name is Dr. Dale VillaseƱor and I have been practicing general dentistry for almost twenty years. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in San Francisco, where I attended Lowell High School. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of California at Santa Cruz, where I majored in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. I enjoyed the sciences so much that upon graduation I electively completed and presented a thesis upon the culmination of my laboratory research. After deciding not to pursue a Ph.D., I spent three and half years of career exploring. I worked with both severely, emotionally, and disturbed (SED) and severely handicapped (SH) students for Santa Cruz County of Education. I explored my health interests by working in both Veterinary Medicine and in the field of Optometry. Having realized my strengths, passion, and sincere desire, I concluded that the field of dentistry was my true calling. I received my Doctoral Degree from one of only three Ivy League dental schools in the country - Columbia University in New York City. I continued my studies by completing a residency in an Advanced Education in General and Cosmetic Dentistry (AEGD) program also at Columbia University. Soon after, I moved back to the Bay Area where I practiced as an associate dentist for several years until I was able to take over as owner of Horizons Dental in September 2010. I continue to advance myself in my profession by being active in the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Contra Costa Dental Society. With a special interest in Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry, I am also an active member of the Partnership Implant Study group of Walnut Creek.
