Dr Humam Alathari

Dr. Humam Alathari is a highly accomplished and compassionate dentist proudly serving the communities of Woodbridge, VA and Washington, D.C. As the founder of Potomac Dental Care and Georgetown Dental Aesthetic, he is known for blending advanced dental technology with an unwavering dedication to patient comfort and results. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2005. Prior to that, he completed four years of rigorous medical and surgical training abroad. His extensive academic background gives him a unique medical perspective in diagnosing and treating complex dental issues. Since graduating, he has completed hundreds of hours in advanced continuing education, focusing on Digital dentistry, Implantology, Aesthetic restorations, and Neuromuscular and occlusion dentistry. Dr. Alathari is a pioneer in digital dental workflows, integrating CAD/CAM and CEREC technology into his daily practice since 2009. His use of Cone Beam 3D Imaging and in-house CAD/CAM milling allows for same-day crowns, accurate implant placement, and custom dental restorations with minimal turnaround. He uses only high-strength, biocompatible dental materials. With a passion for creating confident smiles, Dr. Alathari has been transforming smiles using Invisalign® and SureSmile® clear aligners since 2008. His background in neuromuscular dentistry (LVI-trained) gives him a deep understanding of occlusion and bite alignment, which translates into superior results in smile makeovers and full-mouth reconstruction. Dr. Alathari is known for his warm bedside manner and attention to detail. He takes time to understand each patient’s medical history, lifestyle, and smile goals to design a personalized treatment plan. He lives in McLean, VA, with his wife and two children and enjoys playing soccer, swimming, and traveling with his family.
