Dr Russell Phillips

Our practice’s founder, Dr. Russell Phillips, began his dentistry journey in Scranton, Pennsylvania. His passion was sparked by a high school sports injury that required him to seek dental treatment. This experience planted the seed for a successful career in oral care. Dr. Phillips pursued his undergraduate studies at Penn State University, where he was an active varsity soccer team member. His dedication to sports was matched only by his commitment to academic excellence. After his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, receiving his DMD degree with honors. After dental school, Dr. Phillips spent two years in the Navy Dental Corps at Submarine Base New London, gaining extensive experience in oral surgery. He then completed a three-year specialty program at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on periodontics and prosthodontics. This training included periodontal surgical procedures and advanced crown and bridge techniques. Dr. Phillips later established his practice in Washington, DC, while staying connected to academia. He taught as an Assistant Clinical Professor at The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Dental Residency Program for 13 years. Additionally, he has published articles in esteemed journals, contributing to dental health advancements.
