Dr Derek Kerr

Dr. Kerr is an Iowa native and attended Tripoli High School before he set off to the University of Iowa College of Engineering for undergraduate school. He earned his dentistry degree and earned the Dental Research Support Award and Dows Research Award while completing his DDS degree. He started Kerr Family Dental in 2016 when he took over for Dr. Harris. One of the things that Dr. Kerr really appreciates about dentistry is being able to help people feel great about the way they look. If they are experiencing pain, he can help them feel better right away. Since Dr. Kerr is a people person, he loves meeting and getting to know our patients and loves how grateful they are when they receive great dental care. Dr. Kerr also appreciates our dental team because they are professional, knowledgeable, and skilled at what they do. Dr. Kerr has a very busy life outside of the office, as well. He enjoys time with his wife and four small children. Watching them grow up and learn brings him endless joy. Dr. Kerr also enjoys sports, music, and running. He also stays very active in his church and values his ability to serve others.
