Dr. Boza joins us from the land of the “Pura Vida” or “Pure Life,” Costa Rica. Here, he got his DDS certificate in 2004 and practiced for five years in both government and private practice. He dedicated most of his time in private practice to “Dental Tourism,” making full mouth rehabilitations, including implant reconstructions. He then decided to specialize in prosthodontics and went on to Rochester, New York where he did three years of specialty training and a one-year fellowship in implant dentistry, including placement and rehabilitation of implants, at Eastman Institute for Oral Health. After this, he was recruited to teach prosthetics and cosmetics at the University of Iowa Dental School in Iowa City. There, he was a resolute professor of future dentists focused on the science of making dentures and crowns, clinically and in a laboratory. He also has an MBA specialized in Medical Business Administration from Universidad de Santa Paula, Costa Rica. While still in Costa Rica, he created a non-profit association, Project Talamanca, alongside other local dentists. This organization provided free dental services to the Indigenous community of Talamanca.
