Dr. Selam Totonchi grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Illinois – Urbana, Champaign. He continued his education and received a Master of Science in Chemistry at Northeastern Illinois University. After a few years of being a Research and Development Chemist, Dr. Totonchi decided to change paths and pursue a lifelong career in Dentistry where he completed his DMD at University of Illinois – Chicago College of Dentistry. During his dental education, he became the President of the American Dental Education Association Chapter at UIC and participated in national conferences to improve quality and access to oral health care. Dr. Totonchi continued advancing his dental techniques and education by completing a General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
