Dr. Blanchaert received his undergraduate dental training in his hometown at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. He completed his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Connecticut. Furthermore, he received fellowship training in maxillofacial oncology and microvascular surgery at the University of Maryland. There he began his academic surgery career immediately after his fellowship training. Dr. Blanchaert added to his training through travelling rotations to centres of excellence in head and neck surgery and reconstruction. Four valuable years of service to the University of Maryland were followed by a return to Kansas City. There, Dr. Blanchaert served the University of Missouri-Kansas City Schools of Dentistry and Medicine for an additional two and one-half years as an associate professor before entering private practice. Dr. Blanchaert enjoys the opportunity to utilise his training and experience through direct patient care and by conducting continuing education for medical professionals. He has lectured internationally on a wide range of topics critical to OMS including dental implant reconstruction, ambulatory anaesthesia, pathology, and reconstruction.
