Dr Clayton “Ben” Smith

A native of coastal Wilmington, North Carolina, Dr. Smith received his degree in dentistry from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He immediately joined the practice his father, Dr. Clayton B. Smith, Jr. started in 1966. Since taking over the practice, Dr. Smith has worked to continue his father’s reputation for gentleness, generosity, and good humor. Dr. Smith is forever the student, seeking out the latest technologies and treatment options for his patients. He has pursued advanced education in endodontics, oral surgery, bone grafting, cosmetic dentistry, implant placement, and restoration, occlusion and TMJ, and most recently oral appliance therapy for bruxism. Dr. Ben is also a member of the following professional associations: American Dental Association (ADA) Academy Computerized Dentistry (ACDNA) North Carolina Dental Society American Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time on the beach with his wife and three sons. He is also a devoted Christian, an avid fisherman, and enjoys volunteering at local charities.
