Dr. Mary Kathryn Owens was born and raised in Greenville, North Carolina. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNC-Wilmington. Before attending dental school, Dr. Owens worked for the North Carolina Missions of Mercy Dental Clinic for two years helping to provide care to underserved areas of North Carolina. After earning her DDS degree from UNC Adams School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the ECU community service-learning center in Brunswick County. Dr. Owens is also a member of the NC Dental Society and American Dental Association. Dr. Owens enjoys building meaningful relationships with her patients. She strives to create beautiful smiles that boost a patient’s self-confidence while also improving their oral health. In her free-time, she enjoys going to the beach, traveling, cheering on the Tar Heels, and spending time with family, friends, and her goldendoodle, Mason.
