Dr Michele Simpson

Dr. Michele Simpson, DDS, leads the practice with years of experience in general and restorative dentistry. As the founder of Wilmington Smile Design Center, she has built a reputation for combining technical precision with a personal touch. Patients appreciate her calm demeanor and commitment to helping them understand their treatment options. She graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry in 2001 and completed her undergraduate education at Towson University in Maryland. After her Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Dr. Simpson attended a general practice residency at York Hospital in Pennsylvania, where she remained an additional 2 years as an Attending Dentist, lecturing to new graduates and treating medically compromised in-patients, trauma in the ER, and outpatients. Dr. Simpson moved to North Carolina in 2004, owning a private dental practice in Roanoke Rapids before opening Wilmington Smile Design Center in 2015. She is one of the leading cosmetic dentists in the area, dedicating over 600 hours in the past 5 years to advanced dentistry at the World Renowned Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies, where she was awarded her Fellowship in Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry. As an LVI-trained dentist, she provides a non-surgical approach to TMD treatment. She has also spent four years learning advanced techniques in orthodontics at the Center for Occlusal Studies with Dr. Jay Gerber. Dr. Simpson has completed advanced laser training and is currently the only practitioner in the Wilmington, NC area offering advanced treatment options using Laser Dentistry with the Fontana Lightwalker. She is passionate about smile transformations and strives to give everyone the beautiful smile they deserve. Dr. Simpson is a member of The American Dental Association, The American Orthodontic Association, The North Carolina Dental Society, and The International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time on the beach with her family and Hungarian Vizsla, Jett, and rides American Saddlebred horses, competing regularly along the east coast. She is also learning dressage with her Hanoverian, Ruby.
