Dr. Smith was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he participated in wrestling, soccer, and ballroom dancing as a youth. His path to dentistry began in high school when he got braces and realized the profound impact a confident smile can have on self-esteem and quality of life. After completing his dental prerequisites at the University of Utah, Dr. Smith earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2009. Following graduation, he served four years as an Army dentist before establishing his private practice in Leland, North Carolina. Dr. Smith is a member of the American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Association, continuously pursuing advanced education to remain at the forefront of dental technology. Outside the office, he enjoys playing piano, coaching wrestling, diving, racquetball, mountain biking, and spending quality time with his wife Kenna and their three children—Teva, Olivia, and Marcus.
