Dr Shannon Thibodeau

Dr. Shannon Thibodeau attended the University of San Diego where she graduated with a degree in Biology and Chemistry with honors. While in her undergraduate career, she took the opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain. During this time, she began to understand the importance of approaching medicine from a more global perspective. She went on to earn her Master’s in Global Medicine, a clinical public health program, from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She studied in courses like infectious diseases, global health entrepreneurship, maternal and child health, and refugee healthcare. She completed research on the ground in Uganda and Rwanda where she worked with local nonprofit organizations to learn to provide better healthcare in rural clinics. Dr. Thibodeau went on to complete her dental training at the University of California San Francisco where she was especially intrigued by providing care to those with complex medical histories and special needs. To further serve her community, she pursued an additional residency at the Portland Veteran Affairs Medical Center to expand her education with advanced medical and surgical training. With lots of family local to the greater Portland community, she is greatly looking forward to settling into Oregon and joining our practice. She prides herself on being an active listener and working together with patients to find ways to improve their oral healthcare. Skill and empathy are of equal importance when it comes to providing exceptional patient care. She loves that the dynamic ever-evolving field of dentistry allows her to be a lifelong learner. When she is not in the office, you can find Dr. Thibodeau exploring new hikes, skiing, road biking, or traveling. Her favorite place in Oregon is Camp Sherman on the Metolius River, where she spends every 4th of July with her family. This year, she and her husband Jeff will be completing the McKenzie Pass scenic byway for the first time! Please pass along your favorite Oregon adventures to her when you meet her.
