Originally from the state of Texas, Dr. Brandon Coleman now happily resides in Winchester, VA. Here, he takes great joy in living, raising his family, and offering outstanding periodontal care. Dr. Coleman is known for his advanced clinical skills, down-to-earth demeanor, attentive approach to patient care, and commitment to maintaining a family-centered practice environment. Dr. Coleman graduated from Rice University in 2003, earning an undergraduate degree in economics. He went on to complete his dental training at the Baylor College of Dentistry in 2007. From there, Dr. Coleman joined the Army and completed a periodontics residency in Fort Gordon, GA. He also received a Master’s of Science in Oral Biology, graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 2010. He served as the Chief of Periodontics for the Fort Polk DENTAC in Louisiana, where he provided a full spectrum of periodontal care to thousands of U.S. military personnel. In 2011, he attained Diplomate status in the American Board of Periodontology. This board certification is the highest level of achievement for periodontists, denoting the skill and training necessary to provide patients with the utmost safety, comfort, and clinical outcomes. Dr. Coleman was invited to return to the Army’s residency program as the youngest staff officer in the program’s history. He served as a full-time assistant professor for five years, publishing, conducting clinical research, and teaching. During this time, he was awarded a number of significant accolades for his role as an educator, including an AAP ITL Teaching Scholarship. Dr. Coleman served as the course director for the Army’s IV (moderate) sedation course, honing skills he continues to use in his practice today. Dr. Coleman transitioned from active duty to the Army Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has remained devoted to patient care as a periodontist, serving in private practice in Atlanta, GA, and now in Winchester. Additionally, Dr. Coleman is an accomplished educator known for his passion and clarity. He has presented on periodontics and dental implant care topics for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Canadian military, and beyond. He continues his mission to blend education with clinical experience by running the Shenandoah Valley Study Club.
