Dr. Christi Abernathy grew up in North Carolina and Virginia. After attending Old Dominion University and receiving a BS degree in Dental Hygiene, she worked in general and periodontal practices in Virginia and Georgia. After 10 years of dental hygiene practice, she attended dental school at Medical College of Georgia, excelling in paediatrics and orthodontics. She opened a private practice in Asheville, NC, catering to fearful patients and including 50% paediatric and hospital cases. In 2010, she moved to Morganton and associated with Morganton Children’s Dentistry. She has interests in community service, with connections to hospitals and mission trips to Haiti.
