Dr. Janna Danbe, better known to her patients as “Dr. Janna”, completed her undergraduate education from Columbia College, Columbia University. She received a scholarship to attend the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine and graduated at the very top of her class. While there, Dr. Danbe received numerous awards and scholarships and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the prestigious national dental honor society. Dr. Danbe completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center in association with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During her residency she was elected chief resident, and received valuable training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry, including advanced behavior management techniques, and treating patients who have special needs or are medically complex. Dr. Danbe is a Diplomate of The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She completed the board certification process in 2011. She is a recipient of the 2009 Richard C. Pugh award, which The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry annually awards to board candidates scoring in the top 3% nationally on the qualifying board examination. Dr. Danbe is also extremely proud to be the 2009 recipient of the coveted James Roche Award, an honor bestowed on the board candidate that receives the highest score in the country on The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry’s annual written qualifying examination. Dr. Danbe currently spends time in both academics and private practice. She is an attending in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center. Focusing on oral health education and the prevention of dental problems, Dr. Danbe’s goal is providing infants, children, and adolescents with compassionate care. She strives to provide each child with the most positive experience possible. With her advanced training in growth guidance, Dr. Danbe will also work closely with orthodontists to ensure any developing orthodontic issues are addressed promptly. Dr. Danbe enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children, Jocelyn, Derek, and Brian. She enjoys baking, fishing, hiking, playing soccer, and is an avid runner. She regularly competes in 5k races and has completed several 10k and half marathon races. Her new running goal is to complete her first marathon. She is actively involved in her community and is a member of the Junior Women’s Club of New Milford, River Edge, and Oradell where she helps organize and run fun events for children and families with the proceeds going towards funding scholarships and helping out families in need. She also recently completed her new leader training and is looking forward to being a troop leader for Girl Scouts in the fall, when her oldest child enters kindergarten.
