Dr Michael Robinson

Dr. Michael Robinson is the founding dentist whose vision and philosophy laid the foundation for what Nia Dental Studio is today. After an accomplished career spanning over three decades, Dr. Robinson has officially retired from clinical practice. He earned his Honours Degree in Life Sciences from Queen’s University in 1983 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Western Ontario in 1987. During his career, he was an active member of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) and the Canadian Dental Association (CDA). He achieved Fellowship status with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) and was a proud member of the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics (IAPA). From 1987 until his retirement, Dr. Robinson served the Barrie community as a dedicated general practitioner. His clinical journey included advanced training in: Aesthetic and cosmetic smile design Physiologic dentistry for TMJ/TMD and sleep-related disorders Orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMD) Physiologic orthodontics He was known for his commitment to providing dentistry that went beyond aesthetics—focusing on whole-mouth health, patient function, and quality of life. Dr. Robinson also fostered a strong culture of continuous education and teamwork, values that remain central to our practice. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Robinson enjoyed a vibrant lifestyle filled with family, sports, and community involvement. A CSIA Level 4 ski demonstrator, avid golfer, and mountain biking enthusiast, he also dedicated time to supporting youth education, charitable causes, and local initiatives. Though he is now retired, Dr. Robinson’s influence continues to guide our team and the way we care for our patients. We are honored to uphold the standard he set and continue the legacy he so passionately built.
