Dr Wagner qualified in the wonderful wine country of Stellenbosch University in 1980 (B.Ch.D. Stell.), going on to further studies in Oral Medicine in 1988 (Hons B.Ch.D. Oral Med) while running his own practice in Hermanus, on the southern Cape coast. After moving to the UK with his family in 1992, he settled in Bishop's Stortford to work at The Dentist where he developed interests in Prosthetic/Cosmetic dentistry, Endodontics and Implant surgery. These interests led to an M.Sc. degree in Implant Dentistry from Warwick University in 2008 (M.Sc. Implant Dent), enabling him to offer this service at other practices in the area. He has been appointed an Honorary Fellow at the University of Warwick since 2009, assisting with the marking of M.Sc. Implantology students' assignments. He is a Supervisor of final year students in their Professional Projects and Clinical cases. This keeps him up to date with the latest developments in the field of Implantology ensuring the clinical application of evidence-based procedures. He is also interested in general Oral Surgery as this is closely linked to the field of Implantology and he continues to attend various other courses to keep up to date with the latest developments in general dentistry as well and makes use of the latest technology in providing the best possible treatment for all patients.
