I qualified from King’s College London in 1988 and then spent a year as a House Officer gaining further experience in Oral Surgery and Children’s dentistry. Following that I worked in Oral Pathology at The Royal London Hospital for several years, studying dental disease and gaining an MSc in the subject. However I decided that academia was not for me and that I would rather spend my time treating and helping patients. So I moved into practice where I have remained since, starting in London, moving to Surrey and ultimately up to Yorkshire. I thoroughly enjoy the more advanced side of restoring people’s mouths and therefore undertook another Masters whilst working in practice, again through King’s. I gained a distinction in my Master of Clinical Dentistry in 2004, in addition to a much greater understanding of various treatments available. This, I believe, allows me to consider all options for my patients, rather than being narrowly focused.
