Ian studied Dentistry in Sheffield qualifying in 1981. He worked at the Birmingham Dental Hospital and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Departments in Ipswich and Middlesborough prior to embarking on a medical degree in Newcastle and qualifying as a doctor in 1989. He completed House Officer posts in medicine, surgery and ENT at the Freeman and RVI hospitals in Newcastle. He has been placing dental implants since 1987 and now exclusively uses the Straumann Implant system. He has attended international meetings in Switzerland, Germany and the USA. As well as Principle here at Park View Dental he also holds a position as an Associate Specialist in Oral Surgery at Newcastle Dental Hospital. Registered specialist in oral Surgery with the General Dental Council. GDC number: 55703
