Dr. Bourland was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1988. He did his undergraduate work at Texas Tech University, majoring in Biology. In 1996, Dr. Bourland received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he received the prestigious Kenneth D. Rudd Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry. He is a member of the 17th District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Bourland has served as Delegate, Vice President, and President in the 17th District. Dr. Bourland is married to his high school sweetheart and they have three children. He loves his faith, his family, sports, and the outdoors.
