Dr. Barker grew up in Cary, just a few miles away from the Cardinal Family Dentistry office. Since she was young, Dr. Barker has been passionate about both science and art. After volunteering in the UNC Hospital Dental Clinic, Dr. Barker realized that a career in dentistry would allow her to combine her passion for science with her artistic abilities, and the rest is history! She went on to graduate from UNC Chapel Hill with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery with Distinction. Dr. Barker’s hard work and commitment to compassionate care has earned her many awards for academic and clinical excellence, and her research on dental implants has recently been published in the journal of Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research. When not in the office, Dr. Barker and her husband, Will, enjoy cheering on UNC to national championships, heated jeopardy competitions, and spending as much time as possible with their family, including their children, Emma and Wyatt, and two beloved felines, Cheddar and Bo (named for her favorite Bojangles biscuit).
