Dr. Maria F. Nichols was born in Zaragoza, Spain and moved to the United States with her family in 1970. She graduated with honors from Notre Dame College in Baltimore Maryland in 1979. Afterwards she attended the University of Maryland Dental School, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where she received her D.D.S. degree in 1984. After graduation she was commissioned as a Dental Officer in the U.S. Army, where she served from 1984 to 1995, achieving a rank of Lieutenant Coronel. Her military training was an invaluable dental experience. In 1994 Dr. Nichols decided to leave the military in order to be closer to her family. She purchased her current practice in 1995 and has been there for the past 30 years. Dr. Nichols' goal is to provide outstanding dental care while maintaining an old fashion family atmosphere. We have been extremely fortunate to serve many wonderful patients, their families and in many cases it has become multi generational, which was always Dr. Nichols' dream. Dr. Nichols volunteers her services at the Spanish Catholic Center Dental Clinic and in 2021 she was named the Clinical Service Volunteer of the Year, an honor that she is extremely proud of. In her spare time Dr. Nichols enjoys spending time with her family, in particular her grandchildren. She also loves cooking, traveling, reading and photography.
