Dr. Bruce Barr is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and former clinical instructor of periodontics at Columbia University and Virginia Commonwealth University and is presently a clinical instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He received his BS in organismal and systems biology from the University of Tennessee and his DDS from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Barr completed his specialty training in periodontics at Columbia University in New York. He has been in private practice since 1981. Dr. Barr is a frequent lecturer, and his research has been published in dental literature. He is currently an active member in several organizations, including American Dental Association American Academy of Periodontal Surgeons American Academy of Osseointegration Virginia Dental Association Tidewater Dental Association Fellow American College of Dentists He is certified by the Academy of General Dentistry to provide continuing education credits for the practice study club. He presently is on staff with Sentara Hospital.
