Dr. Elfenbein completed his specialty training in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania following a general practice residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. He earned his dental degree from the Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine. Highly regarded by his peers, Dr. Elfenbein has been named one of New Jersey Monthly Magazine’s “Top Dentists” every year from 2002–2025 and was featured in the magazine’s inaugural edition, when only 10 endodontists were selected statewide. He has also been recognised in the Guide to America’s Top Dentists and honoured as both a “USA Top Dentist” and “NJ Top Dentist” from 2018–2025. A past president and former editor of the Passaic County Dental Society, he is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists—an honour bestowed upon only about 3% of American dentists. Dr. Elfenbein currently serves as Director of Endodontics at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. He lectures extensively at local and national meetings, provides continuing education to dentists and endodontists, and has published research in both the Journal of Endodontics and Dental Traumatology.
