Born in San Francisco, Dr. Lum spent most of his life growing up in the Bay Area. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology and a minor in Economics from the University of California San Diego, he worked in the biotech industry before pursuing a career in the field of dentistry. Dr. Lum attended dental school at the University of California Los Angeles before completing a three-year specialty program in advanced prosthodontics and implant dentistry at UCLA. Dr. Lum received his certificate and became board eligible in 2008. Later, he completed an additional one-year fellowship in the sub-specialty of maxillofacial prosthetics at the UCLA Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Lum maintains a career in private practice while working part-time as a clinical instructor at UCLA. He is an active member of various professional organizations including the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego Dental Society. Dr. Lum has lectured at meetings and has published articles in the California Dental Association Journal.
