Dr. Joseph B. Silberman, principal of Evanston Dental Associates, was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Boston University in 1985, graduating with honors. After practicing dentistry on New York’s Upper East Side, Dr. Silberman moved to Illinois to begin a family with his wife Renee. He has been an Evanston dentist since 1992 and was the first General Dentist on the North Shore to incorporate using a microscope while treating his patients. Dr. Silberman is committed to staying up-to-date on the latest advances in dental treatments and techniques through ongoing continuing education. In addition to completing the curriculum offered by the world-renowned Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, he has completed courses in periodontics (gums), orthodontics (braces), occlusion (bites), endodontics (root canals), dental sleep medicine (apnea), implants, and cosmetic dentistry. In July of 2022, he was awarded a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry which is a credential reserved for dentists who have taken 1100 hours of continuing education, 400 of which need to be hands on coursework. Only 2% of US and Canadian dentists have achieved this status. He is very proud to have received this award. Dr. Silberman is on staff at Evanston Hospital where he instructs dental residents on procedures and treatment options so they can be the best dentist they can be.
