Dr. John McLaren was raised in Ann Arbor and graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Material Science Engineering (BSE), followed by a doctoral degree in Dental Surgery (DDS), finishing second in his class and inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He completed a three-year master’s degree in restorative dentistry, a specialty fewer than 1% of dentists have. He taught at the University of Michigan and serves as associate editor with The Dental Advisor. His research includes mercury vapor, porcelain strengthening, and more. He is a member of ADA, MDA, and others. He customises care to patient needs and has volunteered in various programs. Enjoys reading, home improvement, golf, and bowling.
