Dr. Lisbeth Steen was born and raised in Sweden. She studied dentistry at Gothenburg University School of Dental Medicine in Sweden, where she earned a DDS. She practiced dentistry for two years as an associate dentist before coming to the USA to attend a two-year general practice residency program at UCONN School of Dental Medicine. Her plan to return to Sweden after the completion of the residency program changed when she met her husband-to-be, Craig. Following the residency program, Dr. Steen did a one-year fellowship at UCONN Health Center in Farmington, where she saw patients in the dental clinic, treated patients in the operating room, managed the on-call service for dental students, and performed research in Osteoporosis. She had an abstract accepted and presented at a bone research meeting in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Steen then attended the Advance Standing program for foreign trained dentists at UCONN School of Medicine, receiving a DMD. After graduation, she worked as an associate in West Haven before starting her own private practice in Hamden, which she ran for many years before joining Fantarella Dental Group. Dr. Steen loves being a dentist and truly enjoys mentoring young students, who have the interest in pursuing a dental career. Her motto has always been to be curious and learn something new every day. Dr. Steen lives in Wallingford, CT and loves spending time with her family and animals. She enjoys sports and has competed in track and volleyball, other hobbies are reading, gardening, and travel.
