Dr. Hoover was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He earned his Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degrees from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. He then worked for 11 years as a microbiologist for Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Following his tenure at LSU, he entered LSU Health Sciences Dental Program in New Orleans, Louisiana and there earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Hoover chose to further his Dental Surgery training and was one of six accepted into a 2-year, hospital based Dental Surgery residency (GPR) at Big Charity Hospital in New Orleans. It was here that Dr. Hoover began his journey into oral surgery. Dr. Hoover provides advanced bone grafting procedures enabling patients to receive implants in areas that were deficient in bone and otherwise could not support implants. Also, because of his advanced dental training, Dr. Hoover treats medically compromised patients, special needs patients, and utilizes IV sedation. Dr. Hoover travels nationally and internationally in an attempt to keep current on the latest dental surgery techniques as well as on all of the various techniques used in dentistry.
