Born in Honduras she now lives in Baton Rouge, and is a mother of two. Mayra was in Army National Guard from 1985-1991, where she served as a dental assistant and finished her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene at LSU Dental School. Specializing in periodontal (gum disease) cases and implant maintenance, Mayra has been working with Dr. Hoover since 2007. She has a local anesthesia certificate, BLS, ACLS and is certified in phlebotomy and PRP (platelet rich plasma). Mayra is also bilingual, speaking Spanish and English.
